About the workshop

The ISSCT Agriculture Commission Workshop encompassing Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy and Extension will be hosted by the Thailand Society of Sugar Cane Technologists (TSSCT) from 19 to 22 August 2024.

Host Institution

The Workshop will be held at The Zign Hotel Pattaya, Chonburi, THAILAND from 19-22 August 2024. It is being hosted by TSSCT. The host institution is the coordination center of sugarcane and sugar academics in Thailand. It supports academic work on sugarcane and sugar related industries. TSSCT also provides academic assistance to sugarcane farmers, cooperating sugar factories, and related industries. Research conducted by TSSCT is mainly focused on improving the quality and quantity of sugarcane and sugar, and utilization of their Co- Products. TSSCT is also actively involved in training public and private sectors involved in sugarcane business to enhance progress and sustainability of sugarcane industry in all aspects.

Language

The Workshop will be conducted in English.

Workshop format

The Workshop will include three full days of scientific presentations and discussions including a half-day wrap-up session on the final day of the workshop. Oral presentations and posters are welcome. Topics of sessions will include sugarcane agricultural engineering, agronomy, and the linkages between these. In addition, there will be a two-day tour of several interesting places, e.g. the KUBOTA Farm, TSP Metal Works Co., Ltd., CMT Farm Implements Co., Ltd. and The Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) during the week of the Workshop or a field trip. Abstracts for all scientific contributions, oral presentations, and posters, will be distributed to participants during the Workshop and published on the ISSCT website.

Abstracts for all contributions (oral and poster) must be submitted as per the instructions on the website by 1 May 2024. Any queries regarding abstracts should be directed to Dr. Hardev Sandhu (hsandhu@ufl.edu).

Presentations at Workshops will not be published. Authors are encouraged to submit papers and posters for consideration for the ISSCT XXXII Congress based on their presentations at the 2024 ISSCT Agricultural Engineering and Agronomy Workshop to the ISSCT Editor Peter Allsopp at issct.editor@bigpond.com / peter.allsopp0351@gmail.com

Registration

Workshop registration is US$ 300 per participant. All Workshop participants must be ISSCT members for 2023-2025. About Pattaya
